Proloquo2Go is a text to speech communication application designed for people who have difficulty speaking or cannot speak at all. It makes it possible for them to express their feelings, needs, and desires. It 'speaks' in words and sentences that are typed in by the user. It also has multiligual word prediction capabilities and iconic vocabulary storage which can be personalized according to individual student's needs. Personal photos can also be used to create customized icons. Additionally, daily schedules and calendars can be programmed into the device by students which helps with organization. It can be downloaded for use on an iPad, iPod touch, iPhone and personal computer. These devices are not large or bulky which makes them easy to carry to school, a job, meetings, or even to a friend’s house. To use the app, the user touches the on-screen keyboard and icons. Proloquo2go has already helped improve the lives of many people with disabilities.
